Victoria Embankment Garden
Created during the 1870s by Joseph Bazalgette, the designer of London's sewage system. It features a reproduction of Rodin's sculpture of 'The Burghers of Calais'; Walker's statue of the suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst and Buxton Memorial Fountain to commemorate the emancipation of slaves in 1834.
Victoria Embankment Gardens consists of 4 gardens: 1. Temple Gardens, 2. Main Garden (formerly Adelphi Gardens), Whitehall Garden and Ministry of Defense Garden (MOD).
It has formal bedding, lawn areas, cafe and a bandstand.
